SOS Restoration of East Bay clears mold from houses across Oakland and its cities, most of them decades old. We trace the water first, take the growth out, then seal the wall. English or Spanish; the visit is free. Call (341) 220-0032.

Bay air alone keeps an old wall damp enough to grow it.
By the shore the marine layer presses damp onto a north wall for months. In a pre-war house with no vapor barrier, that is enough. We meter the material rather than blame the weather.
It adds a step: a sample before anything is scraped.
Residential lead paint was banned in 1978, and much of the East Bay predates it, Oakland’s median is 1952. So an old ceiling or wall gets a sample before a scraper touches it, not after.
Sometimes, and an outside hygienist signs it, not us.
A landlord or an insurer may want a third-party clearance after the removal. We do the work; an independent tester signs the result. That keeps the check honest and the file clean.
No charge to look; mold work starts at $90 an hour.
Every figure sits on the rate card, one page. Cutting the water source is step one, and if a wall opens the rebuild is one written total. The record feeds the insurance claim.
Ten square feet or less, masked and gloved, a window open.
Past that, or growth behind a wall you cannot see, wants a meter and containment. Not sure? The dispatcher sends someone to read it.
Older stock hides it longer. Berkeley’s median home dates to 1941.
Plaster walls and unvented crawl spaces hold moisture where a meter must go looking for it. The survey comes before any quote for that reason.
An independent hygienist, never the company that did the removal.
Where a lender or an association wants paper, an outside hygienist takes it. A firm that finds mold and then quotes the cure has marked its own homework.
Mildew on a grout line wipes away and is not worth a crew.
It returns because the room stays wet, so a fan and a habit beat any invoice. We come when it sits behind something nobody can wipe.
The bay side stays damp under the fog most of the year; the Tri-Valley and the Delta bake dry and hide it inside the walls. Same spore, two very different houses. Each city page says which one you are standing in.
The number is the part that matters. The rest just tells us which crew to send and how far up the road they are going.
Mold in an old Bay wall returns until the damp does not, so start at the water. Call (341) 220-0032 and we do.
